The Incoterms rules are intended primarily to clearly communicate the tasks, costs, and risks associated with the transportation and delivery of goods.
Standard Containers (or General Cargo) are the most common containers made of aluminum or steel, are built to be resistant to harsh sea conditions. |
High-cube containers are similar in structure to standard containers, but taller. In contrast to standard containers, which have a maximum height of 2591 mm (8'6"), high-cube containers are 2896 mm, or 9'6", tall. High-cube containers are for the most part 40' long, but are sometimes made as 45' containers. |
The walls of open-top containers are generally made of corrugated steel. The floor is made of wood. These two structural features greatly simplify the process of packing and unpacking the container. In particular, it is very easy to pack and unpack the container from above or through the doors by crane or crab when the roof is open and the door header is swivelled out. |
A refrigerated container or reefer is an intermodal container (shipping container) used in intermodal freight transport that is refrigerated for the transportation of temperature sensitive cargo. |
Flat rack containers are especially suitable for heavy loads and cargo that needs loading from the top or side, such as pipes and machinery. Flat rack containers are manufactured from steel and come in 20’ ad 40’sizes. |
Platform containers are used for heavy loads and project cargoes. They have the ability to receive load very high, so they are also used in oversized cargo or difficult projects in which other container is not enough. |
The ISO tank container was developed for the carriage of all types of liquids, ranging from, but not limited to, potable (food grade) liquids, non hazardous, and hazardous liquids, including corrosives, flammables, toxics, and explosives. The tank container eliminates the risks in transferring liquids from one vessel to another, and provides for an extremely safe, secure, cost effective, and viable mode of transportation. |
